Description

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter with the brown sugar and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips or your choice of mix-ins.
  7. Transfer the cookie dough into a greased 10-inch cast-iron skillet or an oven-safe baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is still slightly soft.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
  10. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, drizzling with chocolate syrup and adding whipped cream if desired.
