Ingredients
Scale:
3 pounds chicken wings
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for spice)
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup hot sauce (your favorite brand)
1/4 cup melted butter
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Prepare the chicken wings by rinsing them under cold water and patting them dry with paper towels.
In a large bowl, combine all the dry ingredients: salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.
In a separate bowl, whisk together olive oil, soy sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce to create the marinade.
Add the chicken wings to the marinade and toss until well coated. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top. Arrange the wings on the wire rack in a single layer.
Bake for 40-45 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through.
While the wings bake, prepare your tangy wing sauce by combining hot sauce, melted butter, and lemon juice in a small saucepan.
Once the chicken wings are done, remove them from the oven and toss them in the tangy wing sauce until thoroughly coated.
