Ingredients
Scale:
For the Dough:
4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup whole milk, warmed
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
2 large eggs
For the Filling:
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar, packed
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
For the Bourbon Glaze:
2 cups powdered sugar
4 tablespoons bourbon
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1-2 tablespoons milk (for consistency)
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
Add melted butter, eggs, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix well until combined.
Gradually add flour, one cup at a time, until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
While the dough is rising, prepare the filling by mixing together softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl.
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle (about 16x22 inches) on a floured surface.
Spread the filling mixture evenly over the dough, then sprinkle crumbled bacon on top.
Starting from one long edge, carefully roll the dough into a log. Pinch the seam to seal.
Cut the log into 12 equal slices. Place them in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
While the rolls bake, whisk together the powdered sugar, bourbon, maple syrup, and milk until smooth.
Once the rolls are baked, remove them from the oven and drizzle warm bourbon glaze over the top before serving.
